Voice and gesture controlled smart TV from Samsung

The South Korean tech giant Samsung has unveiled its latest  “smart” internet-connected TV model, which hardware could be upgraded yearly.

The new ES8000 TV comes with the promise that  sets bought now will in the future be upgradable through a simple add-on part. A built-in slot allows  to install a new kit to boost processing performance and add  new features.

In addition to the “smart evolution capacity” the new model Samsung has few other vanguard features. A built-in camera allows users to browse the internet with a wave of their hand and to change channels by speaking in one of the more than 20 languages that the set can “understand”. A facial recognition facility also allows the set to recognise individual users, pulling up the selection of their favourite apps.

The ES8000 is the latest device of Samsung’s Smart TV systems, launched by the firm since 2008.
