34 percent of Uzbekistan population uses Internet

The number of Internet users, including mobile Internet users, in Uzbekistan has reached 8.8 million in 2011, Gazeta.uz website reported.

The costs of Internet channels to operators and providers decreased by a factor of 2.9 during the year. The number of domains registered in the uz zone now exceeds 13,400.

38 percent of the country’s population can now watch digital TV. Uzbekistan’s population exceeds 29.5 million.
