INSI to launch major safety publication for women journalists

The International News Safety Institute (INSI) is publishing a book, which provides an unprecedented insight into the safety of women journalists working in conflict and danger zones.

According to the INSI website, over 30 women journalists from more than a dozen countries, including renowned CBS correspondent Lara Logan, have contributed to the publication with articles about their amazing experiences.

They describe the risks, the challenges and the emotional and physical impact on their lives of reporting from places of conflict.

Triggered by the shocking assault on Lara Logan in Egypt in 2011, the book highlights the unique safety concerns faced by newswomen.

As well as telling the revealing stories of brave women journalists the book contains safety advice and guidance for women in the media who often risk their lives to bring us the news.
