Singaporean web portal rolls out new animated series

Following the success of their first web original, the idol drama “Let’s Play Love”, Singapore entertainment web portal xinmsn.com will roll out its latest original offering, the animated series “Blk 88” on March 5.

“We were quite encouraged by how positively the online public  responded to our first web original, ‘Let’s Play Love’ – said Moses Lye, Vice President, xinmsn, Interactive Media MediaCorp. “Naturally, we are excited about this new piece, ‘Blk 88’ and are quietly confident that viewers would find it entertaining as well.”

Xinmsn is partnering with Scrawl Studios and MDA in this effort and is planning to produce more web originals in the near future.

“Blk 88” is a comedy that traces the lives of the Singaporean Sim family as they find themselves facing all sorts of weird and funny situations in Singapore.

The animated series will see television veterans Huang Wen Yong and Lin Mei Jiao, along with radio personalities Lin Pei Fen and Xie Jia Fa, lend their voices to animated characters for the very first time.

Following its run on xinmsn, each of the series’ 14 five-minute episodes will air on Channel 8 from March 29.
