SevenOne International expands to Hong Kong

SevenOne International, the worldwide TV format distribution subsidiary of German broadcast group ProSiebenSat.1, will open a branch office in Hong Kong, menafn.com reports.

The company, which has already sold many TV formats to Asia in the past, wants, expand its activities in the local market through the move.

The new Hong Kong office will also help manage the business with Australia. English-speaking markets are becoming increasingly important for SevenOne International as the company’s portfolio includes more and more English-language fiction programs.

SevenOne International  has already placed several formats in the Asian TV market. Chinese TV broadcaster Jiang Su Satellite has aired 52 episodes of Sat.1 show “Mein Mann kann”.

In 2011, free-to-air channel Shanghai Docu TV secured the rights to ProSieben’s knowledge show “Galileo.” In 2005, Sat.1’s science show “Clever” was even screened in the original German version: China’s state broadcaster CCTV screened all seasons of the programme with Mandarin subtitles.
