INSI to launch first book dedicated to the safety of women journalists

The International News Safety Institute will be launching the first book dedicated to the safety of women journalists on March 8.

“No Woman’s Land: On the Frontlines with Female Reporters” provides an unprecedented insight into the safety of women journalists working in conflict and danger zones and will be launched to coincide with International Women’s Day.

According to INSI, forty women journalists from more than a dozen countries, including renowned CBS correspondent Lara Logan, have written of their amazing experiences. They describe the risks, the challenges and the emotional and physical impact on their lives.

Triggered by the shocking assault on Lara Logan in Egypt in 2011, the book highlights the unique safety concerns faced by newswomen.

As well as telling the revealing stories of brave women journalists the book contains safety advice and guidance for women in the media who often risk their lives to bring us the news.
