Samsung tops the global market for monitors

Samsung Electronics maintained its reigning position in the global monitor market for the fifth consecutive year in 2011.

According to market research firm IDC, Samsung Electronics’ monitor sales had a market share of 15.1 percent last year worldwide, making it the market leader for five years in a row.

Despite global financial woes, Samsung had managed to sell monitors in both developed and emerging countries in Central America and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Samsung Electronics was also the first company in the world to sell over 12 million LED monitors to enjoy a 23.3 percent market share.
