DStv launches Chinese bouquet in Africa

DStv has launched Great Wall Africa, a bouquet of Chinese channels in selected African countries.

Comprising 11 channels, Great Wall Africa is designed for both Chinese communities in Africa as well as Africans eager to understand more about China. It includes several international channels from state broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV), plus local Chinese TV stations in a range of languages including Chinese (Mandarin), English and French.

The channels are CCTV 4, CCTV News, CCTV François, CCTV 9 Documentary, CNC, The 24 Hour Mandarin Entertainment Channel, China Movie, Shanghai Dragon TV, Hunan TV, JSTV – 1 and Phoenix Entertainment.

The bouquet is currently available in throughout the EAC countries. It will be available free of charge to DStv subscribers until 31 March, thereafter it will cost $US 2 per month extra as an add-on to an existing DStv subscription or $6.50 per month as a standalone bouquet.
