Indonesia eager to increase coverage of state TV, radio

Indonesia is eager to increase broadcasting coverage of state-run public broadcasting institutions (LPPs) of Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI) and Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI), a minister said today.

Minister for Communication and Informatics Tifatul Sembiring told a parliamentary hearing that the government prioritizes development of the LPPs. Mr Sembiring said that digitalization is the best solution for LPPs as in certain areas, especially in the main island of Java, analogue frequencies are too crowded.
