Sky Germany shows children’s series on-demand

German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland will add children’s programmes to its “catch up” service Sky Anytime: the sixth programme genre following movies, sports, series, shows and documentaries will be available from 6 April 2012.

The content will be provided by children’s channels Junior, Boomerang and Cartoon Network, for example “Tom & Jerry”, “Bugs Bunny & Looney Tunes” and “Ben 10”. Content from Nicktoons will follow in future.

Sky Anytime enables the owners of HD PVR Sky+ to watch selected programmes up to 14 days after their TV broadcast without additional charge.

The content is sent into set-top-boxes’ hard-disks overnight via cable or satellite to provide viewers with new material each day. An internet connection is not required.
