Singapore’s MediaCorp bags nine awards at the New York Festivals 2012

MediaCorp was awarded two Gold, five Silver, two Bronze and 11 Finalist Certificates at the New York Festivals 2012 during television and film awards ceremony which recognized the ‘World’s Best Work’ in the television entertainment arena.

Leading the awards is Channel NewsAsia (CNA) which has won six awards comprising two Gold, three Silver and one Bronze. The program, The End/Beginning which was awarded four medals by a global panel of judges, looks into personal stories of different individuals who survived extreme circumstances. The other winning titles from CNA include ASIA Exposed and Crimson.

Singapore’s Channel 8 also won Bronze for The Activist’s Journey, a program that provides insights into specific human rights and conservation projects around the world.

The New York Festivals was established 55 years ago and its Television and Film Awards recognise the ‘World’s Best Work’ in news, sports, documentary, information and entertainment programs. Entries were received from more than 35 countries.
