17th Asian Television Awards Call for Entries

Now in its 17th year, the Asian Television Awards is a celebration honouring the outstanding achievements of terrestrial broadcasters, cable and satellite networks, and independent production houses in the region. In 2011, the Awards attracted an enthusiastic response of 1,039 entries from 14 countries.

Last year’s winners for Best Documentary Series, Hiroyuki Akiyama and Hiroyuki Iwaki of Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, Inc., declared: “Awards such as the Asian Television Awards are crucial in stimulating competition and production within the Asia-Pacific region.”

This year, three new award categories have been introduced, namely Best 2D Animated Programme, Best 3D Animated Programme and Best Sports Presenter/Commentator, adding up to a total of 38 categories across television genres and performance segments. In addition, broadcasters and networks who chalk up the most number of winning entries (1st place and runner ups) will vie for the four top awards – Terrestrial Channel of the Year, Cable & Satellite Channel of the Year, Terrestrial Broadcaster of the Year, and Cable & Satellite Network of the Year.

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain recognition as Asia’s best, in the industry’s most prestigious TV awards. Entry forms and submission details can be found at www.asiantvawards.com. All winners will be announced at the annual ATA Gala Ceremony on December 6 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore.

Submission deadline: June 15, 2012
