New multimedia studio for Pakistan Broadcasting Corp

Live video and audio streaming is now a reality for Radio Pakistan after a multimedia studio was opened in Islamabad by Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.

According to the Director General of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Murtaza Solangi, the digital service, which will also support text and IVR, can be initially accessed via Radio Pakistan’s website, but will become available via cable TV in the future.

Prime Minister Gilani also distributed letters regularizing 661 daily wage employees at National Broadcasting House.

He said the government recognized the popularity and importance of the country’s public broadcaster, and that the necessary resources would be made available to make it a more efficient, vibrant, and strong media organization.
