CSN to televise Sri Lanka Premier League Cricket

Every match from the inaugural season of Sri Lanka Premier League cricket, which runs from 10-31 August 2012, will be broadcast to the domestic audience by Carlton Sports Network (CSN).

“Twenty20’s massive popularity and status as the most exciting and entertaining format of cricket will be further enhanced by this newest tournament to the world of cricket. International players will be playing in the SLPL alongside Sri Lankan national cricketers and young Lankan hopefuls,” Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said in a statement.

Seven provincial teams will compete in the Sri Lanka Premier League series, with each team having a maximum of six overseas cricketers in their squad, while only four overseas cricketers can feature in the playing eleven. The Sri Lankan icon players are to be announced soon.

The new Sri Lankan tournament was postponed at the eleventh hour in 2011 after Indian players withdrew from the league over a contract dispute.
