Maurya TV ventures into Nepal

After strengthening its position in Bihar and Jharkhand, Maurya TV is set to tap the Nepal market, exchange4media.com reports.

The channel has done a test run in the country and has found acceptance among the target group.

“Viewers of Nepal are Hindi and Bhojpuri speaking people and this is helping Maurya TV connect with them,” said Manish Jha, Director, Maurya TV.

The channel also has plans to launch in Bengal soon.

“From the last six months Maurya TV is at the number one position, in terms of TRP, in Bihar and Jharkhand. Our content mix not only entertains the viewers but also keeps them updated on happenings that are likely to affect their lives,” added Jha.

Maurya TV is a venture of filmmaker Prakash Jha. It showcases daily soaps, news, talk shows and movies.

The channel has plans to enter the smaller states of Uttar Pradesh in the future.
