‘Dharma’ Won AIBD World TV Awards

The ‘Dharma-Where Does Happiness Lie?’, a KBS documentary on the Tripitaka Koreana, the complete collection of Buddhist scripture carved on woodblocks, won the top prize of the  AIBD World TV Awards for promoting religious understanding and tolerance. The prize was awarded during the Asia Media Summit held in Bangkok, Thailand.

‘Dharma’, broadcast in October 2011 to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of the Tripitaka, displayed a new style of documentary making, focusing on images and sounds, creating an experience of meditation for audience.

AIBD World TV Awards, organized by Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development, aim to recognize the crucial role played by media in increasing the awareness of the audience on major issues such as cultural diversity, religious understanding, tolerance and peace.
