UTV launches Bollywood channel in UK

The Bollywood high definition (HD) channel known in India as UTV Stars will be available on Sky from today – though it will be branded UMP Stars, for the UK audience.

The film, music, features and entertainment news channel, which successfully launched in India last August, will now be accessible on Sky in the UK. It will broadcast alongside the Disney-owned media group’s Hindi film channel UMP Movies, which launched in Britain in December.

UTV Stars already broadcasts to India, the Middle East, Australia and Malaysia.
