Disney/ABC’s Anne Sweeney honoured in Monte Carlo TV Festival

The winners of the Golden Nymph Awards were announced at the 52nd Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo. During the ceremony Anne Sweeney, co-chair, Disney Media Networks and President, Disney/ABC Television Group received an Honorary Golden Nymph Prize for her group’s achievements in the global entertainment industry.

The Golden Nymphs cover a range of categories including television films, mini-series, TV series, documentaries and news as well as a number of special prizes including the International TV Audience Award, eusatforum.com reports.

A total of 28 prizes and special prizes were granted during a red-carpet ceremony. Among those prizes, the Best TV Film Award went to The Last Fine Day (Hager Moss Film/Germany); The Best Mini Series Award was attributed to Yasu-A Single Father’s Story (NHK) while the Best News Documentaries was shared by Terror Island (TV2 Norway) and Bahrain: Shouting in the Dark (Al-Jazeera English).

In the TV audience prizes, awards went to the US series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Desperate Housewives and The Bold & The Beautiful.
