CNN takes its Café concept to the center of Seoul and Busan

Turner International Asia Pacific Inc and YBM Education, South Korea’s largest English education institution, announced that CNN Café is expanding to two more locations in South Korea.

With seating for more than 200 people, the latest CNN Café opened this week at the heart of the Gangnam Station, a key commercial and entertainment district and one of the busiest locations in Seoul.

The CNN Café concept features the usual mix of coffee and light snacks but with the addition of CNN content across different platforms, including a live feed of the CNN International channel on a large screen, the latest CNN news wires on a digital ticker and computer terminals featuring cnn.com and cnngo.com.

CNN Café will also open its first café outside of Seoul, in the city of Busan, the second largest city in South Korea located on the southeastern tip of the Korean peninsula.

In addition to the expansion of CNN Café, Turner and YBM are opening another ‘CNN the Biz’, a professional meeting room/space that can be used for job interviews, in-house training, workshops and study groups. There are currently six CNN the Biz locations operating throughout Seoul, with the newest location opening on July 6th in the Gangnam Station area.
