CCTV Music Show returns to schedule in a new format

One of CCTV’s old favourites will return to television screens in China next spring after a revamp, cmmintelligence.com reports.

The popular music show Tong Yi Shou Ge will re-start with a concert tour themed with Deng Li Jun’s classic songs.

Organizer Liu Zhi Qiang said the concert will take place in cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Xi’an, Nanjing and Chongqing.

In order to modernise the show and attract a younger audience, the production team will be staffed with some of CCTV’s youngest talent, many of whom were born after the year of 1980, known in Chinese as the “Ba Ling Hou” generation.
