KCC appoints new Board of Governors for KBS

The new, eleven-member Board of Governors of KBS has been appointed for a three year term and elected former Auditor-General as its Chairman.

As the highest decision making body of KBS, the board of governors are comprised of members appointed by the President of Korea on the recommendation of Korean Communications Commission.

The core duty of the board is to ensure independence and integrity of KBS as public service broadcasters by deliberating on issues including the strategies, performance and financial accounts.

The new Board held its first meeting this month and elected one of its members, Mr Lee Gil-young as Chairman. Previous to his Board appointment, Mr Lee served as Auditor-General.
