EBU News Assembly discusses best practice in integrated news production

Delegates at this week’s EBU News Assembly in Barcelona heard about some of the new approaches to more integrated news production that are emerging among EBU Members.

Cooperation and mutual assistance were key core themes at the News Assembly. This was seen more important than sharing editorial visions of what news should look like. Delegates heard that technical and organizational best practices are in high demand among member broadcasters and that the EBU’s Integrated Media Production Strategies (IMPS) project is addressing this need by organising site visits to Members, for Members.

So far, more than 70 EBU Member representatives are part of the IMPS programme run by the EBU Technology & Innovation Department, the Eurovision Academy and the Eurovision News Group. The programme is designed to help Members move towards more integrated approaches to producing media content.
