Malaysia’s Astro wins three-year deal to broadcast Barclays Premier League

Satellite pay-TV provider Astro has won the exclusive Malaysian broadcasting rights for the English Barclays Premier League (BPL) for the next three seasons, starting from 2013/14.

Under the arrangement, all 380 league matches will be shown live on Astro.

Astro CEO Datuk Rohana Rozhan said: “We are excited to further strengthen our association with the most popular football league by bringing three more football seasons action from the BPL.”

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore added: “We are extremely pleased Astro have chosen to invest in our broadcast rights for the 2013/14 and 2015/16 seasons. They are a long-term partner of the Premier League and renowned for quality sports broadcasting.

“We know that they will continue to broadcast the Barclays Premier League to Malaysian football fans in an exciting and innovative manner.”
