Digital sensation iHeartRadio coming to Australia & NZ in 2013

iHeartRadio, the digital radio service that has been downloaded more than 135 million times, with more than 48 million monthly digital unique users in the US alone, is set to make its debut in Australia and New Zealand in early in 2013, radioinfo reports.

iHeartRadio’s number of registered users continues to grow faster than all other popular entertainment platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Pandora, Spotify and Instagram. Since its launch 13 months ago, iHeartRadio has exceeded 20 million registered users, a feat made all the more impressive given registered users are only a percentage of iHeartRadio’s overall listeners, since registration is only required for the Custom Station features.

The service will be available via the Australian Radio Network (ARN).  CEO Ciaran Davis said, “We are excited to bring this category leading product to Australian and New Zealand audiences in 2013 and these new user numbers further illustrate the quality of the product and the power of radio. ARN will lead the radio industry into the next era of radio, offering listeners live station streaming plus user-created custom stations with more songs, more user control, deeper social integration and more opportunities to discover new music than any service available in this market – all in one easy to use, seamless product.”

The iHeartRadio digital platform is free, fully-integrated service with instant access to more than 1,500 radio stations, plus user-created Custom Stations inspired by favourite artists and songs.
