Psy may appear in China, Hunan-style

Fresh from his performance at the American Music Awards, South Korean pop sensation and the singer of Gangnam Style is said to make his China debut during the New Year’s countdown gala show on Hunan Satellite TV.

The TV station in Changsha, capital of Hunan Province reportedly spent nearly a month persuading Psy to perform at its New Year gala show amid competition from other Chinese TV stations that expressed the same interest.

The show will be held on the eve of New Year’s Day on Hunan STV, one of the most watched TV channels in China.

Psy’s agent has confirmed that his client’s participation and performance details are still in negotiation, cntv.cn reports.

Psy’s Gangnam Style has taken the world by storm with more than 780 million views on YouTube since it was released in July. His music video mocks the consumerism of a rich Seoul suburb and his horse-riding dance has been imitated by many people, including UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
