Broadcast Australia appoints new CEO

Broadcast Australia has today announced the appointment of Jim Hassell as it’s new Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Hassell takes over from outgoing CEO Graeme Barclay who has led Broadcast Australia for more than a decade.

Mr Hassell is currently Head of Product Development and Industry Relations at NBN Co. Previously he was Chief Operating Officer at Broadcast Australia and before that Managing Director Australasia for Sun Microsystems.  

Broadcast Australia Group’s Chairman, Gerry Moriarty welcomed the appointment saying “Jim brings excellent industry knowledge and a strong customer focus to the role. He has more than 25 years experience in the Information Technology and Communications industry with much of his earlier career spent at IBM and then Sun Microsystems.”

Mr Moriarty also acknowledged the excellent contribution that Graeme Barclay had made to Broadcast Australia during more than a decade as CEO.

Jim Hassell will assume the role of Group CEO in March 2013.
