Gangnam Style shatters records for TVK-Pop On Demand

According to US-based Korean broadcaster TVK24, its TVK-Pop On Demand, a free video on demand (VOD) service featuring top Korean music videos received an unprecedented number of views in October.

In one month, TVK-Pop On Demand received more than 2.6 million views and the smash hit song and video “Gangnam Style” received more than 1.78 million of those views, propelling the service to the top 10% of high performing VOD content providers in all categories.

“K-Pop is a phenomenon that has captured audiences around the world and thanks to Psy and his mega-hit ‘Gangnam Style,’ K-Pop is reaching an even bigger mainstream audience.  We are pleased to be able to continue to expand this VOD offering to fans in the US,” said Eric Yoon, founder and CEO of TVK24.

TVK-Pop On Demand launched in November on Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks.
