A+E unveils global digital initiative for history docuseries

A worldwide mobile campaign and social media initiative has been developed by A+E Networks for Mankind: The Story of All of Us, a 12-hour docuseries broadcast by HISTORY in the U.S. and around the globe.

The mobile campaign consists of an app for iOS and Android devices, which will be offered in the U.S., Italy, Southeast Asia and Latin America. The free app will feature hundreds of Mankind trivia facts, dozens of short form clips, commentary from experts and images, worldscreen.com reports.

Mankind; The Story of All of Us investigates the history of the human race over the years. Major events that are mentioned include the Ice Age, the fall of the Aztec Empire and the Industrial Revolution.

“We are excited to support the launch of Mankind with original content created by our local HISTORY teams around the world on mobile, social and online platforms,” said Christopher Barry, the managing director of international strategy and digital media for A+E Networks. “This global campaign highlights the power of local content to drive engagement and buzz around our signature series.” he said.
