AsiaSat to carry Afghanistan’s ‘Zhwandoon TV’

The satellite operator Asia Satellite Telecommunications Company Limited (AsiaSat) announced that Zhwandoon Radio Television Network of Afghanistan has signed a lease agreement for C-band capacity to distribute its ‘Zhwandoon TV’ channel.

Through AsiaSat 3S’s platform across the Asia Pacific, Zhwandoon TV will reach not only all broadcast networks and audiences in Afghanistan but also Central Asia, Middle East, South Asia and other parts of Asia Pacific.

Zhwandoon TV has commenced free-to-air broadcasting with programming in the Pashto and Dari languages and content ranging from news & entertainment, to sports, music, religious, social, educational and political programmes.

“We are excited to put our service on AsiaSat 3S that delivers our programming effectively to the entire country and takes our services abroad, serving overseas audience in more 50 countries and regions across the Asia Pacific,” said Professor Mohammad Ismael Yoon, Chief Executive of Zhwandoon TV.
