Nat Geo to launch exploration programming block

In honor of the 125th anniversary of the National Geographic Society, National Geographic Channel has scheduled a programming block titled Night of Exploration on Fridays starting next month.

The block’s content will revolve around the significant discoveries made by those who explore the planet. Every week the network will broadcast world premieres and critically acclaimed programming, worldscreen.com reports.

Night of Exploration will debut on Friday, January 11 at 8 p.m. with A New Age of Exploration: National Geographic at 125, an anniversary world premiere special. That same night the channel will feature a special encore of Titanic: The Final Word with James Cameron.

Other special encores scheduled to air later on include The Human Family Tree (January 18), Stonehenge Decoded (January 25), Easter Island Underworld (January 25), Drain the Ocean (February 1), King Tut and the Lost Dynasty (February 8) and King Tut’s Final Secrets (February 8).
