Thailand launches new daily TV and radio programming in Malay

Thailand’s Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SBPAC), announced it will carry new daily television and radio programmes in Malay, a language which is widely used in the Muslim-majority areas of southern Thailand.

SBPAC hopes the new satellite TV broadcasts will help illustrate Thailand’s multiculturalism, particularly the plural cultures in the South of the country.

The launch of the broadcasting media in Malay is regarded as an important communication tool for the SBPAC which is running 24-hour radio programmes and joint productions by local producers.

Programming content varies from Islamic religious affairs, education, commentaries, culture, tourism and general news.
