DW and Myspace present the stars of tomorrow’s music scene

In cooperation with the leading social entertainment platform Myspace, Germany’s international broadcaster Deutsche Welle’s popular English-language radio show Pulse will present the most interesting newcomers on the German music scene. 

From Lily Allen to Jay-Z, many of today’s pop icons started their career on Myspace. Using Myspace as a platform for their music, these initially unknown artists gradually gained popularity and finally made the leap to fame. Deutsche Welle and Myspace’s joint “Unsigned” project builds on this tradition. From rock bands to hip hop crews and solo artists, the youth magazine Pulse presents listeners with a selection of ten unsigned artists from Germany.

The show allows unknown artists’ access to a broader audience and provides listeners and internet-users with an exciting insight into their lives.

All episodes of the show are available as audio on demand on DW’s Pulse homepage, as well as on Myspace Unsigned’s Stream. According to Myspace, it boasts the largest free online music and video library in the world, which currently contains more than 42 million songs and videos.  

The weekly English-language radio show Pulse takes a look at youth culture in Europe and around the world. Each edition consists of 30 minutes of information and music. The show is rebroadcast by DW’s partner radio stations around the world, and is available online.
