ABC introduces Digital Radio weekends

In 2013 Digital Radio listeners in Australia will have more listening options on weekends with the country’s public broadcaster ABC adding two new programs to the existing line up on its Local Radio service.

The new programs include Countrywide – a rural news program giving metropolitan audiences an insight into the key news and current affairs issues as they affect rural, regional and remote areas; and Live and Local featuring the best musical interviews and guests gathered from ABC Local Radio around Australia.

Listeners not in a digital radio broadcast area are able to tune in to all the programs through the ABC Radio Mobile App.
