Thailand’s MCOT inks deal with Korea’s Intellicode to provide web site and smartphone applications

MCOT President Anek Permwongseni and Intellicode Thai’s CEO Hwang Byoung Woo today signed a cooperation contract that will see the two organizations collaborate on new media services and entertainment content.

Anek said the deal was a big step for MCOT in developing new media service in addition to convention broadcast media.  He believed the advanced technology Intellicode had to offer would help strengthen MCOT operation and generate 65 million baht in revenue.

Hwang said the contract covered cooperation on five fronts including joint development of information technology, Thai version of online K-pop community “Soompi,” development of mobile phone application and smart TV, digital TV and K-pop entertainment content.

The CEO said he was confident that the cooperation contract would lead MCOT to become the most advanced media organization in Thailand and in ASEAN.
