KBS Documentary wins international award for 3D excellence

Offering a fascinating inside look at the beginnings of life in 3D, the KBS Documentary Fetus won the International Jury Prize at the 2013 International 3D Society Creative Arts Awards.

The Los Angeles, U.S.-based host of the award, the International 3D Society, was founded to advance the art and technologies of 3D content and its professional innovators.

With production spanning over a year, Fetus recreates the development of life from the moment of conception to birth, presenting the growth of an embryo week-by-week.

By adopting 3D technology in depicting the beginning of life, Fetus pushed the boundaries of medical documentaries. In 2012 the documentary was chosen as a finalist at NHK’s Japan Prize.
