NHK wins Emmy Award

NHK has won an International Emmy Award in the best children’s drama category.     

The International Emmys are given to outstanding TV programs produced outside the United States.  The drama series is one of the categories in the new International Emmy Kids Awards.

NHK won for an episode of “Chugakusei Nikki” or “Junior High School Diaries”.

The Chugakusei Nikki series was produced by an NHK station in Nagoya and ran for 50 years until March last year.

The drama was set in a fictional school with each episode depicting the friendships and concerns of teenagers.
