China launches new platform to boost documentary production

An official web portal devoted to the Chinese documentary industry –docuchina.cntv.cn – is now operational, China Daily reports.

Jointly set up by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) and the China Network Television (CNTV), the project was designed to boost the bourgeoning documentary industry in China.  The site will cover policy releases, industrial trends, project financing, academic research as well as offer expert advice for documentary makers.

“China made documentaries are embracing a prosperous era”, said Li Wei, SARFT Deputy Director, adding that he expects the website to serve as an important platform to boost development of Chinese documentaries.
