Germany & Australia team up on new live-action kids’ series

Germany’s ZDF Enterprises and Australia’s SLR Productions are starting production on the live-action series Sam Fox: Extreme Adventures, based on the popular children’s books by the author Justin D’Ath.

Aimed at 8- to 12-year-olds, the 26×24-minute series is the first live-action production from SLR. ZDF Enterprises will be handling the international distribution for the show, which will be broadcast locally in Australia on both Network Ten and Cartoon Network. It will be filmed at the South Australian Film Corporation’s new Adelaide Studios as well as on location in South Australia.

The action-adventure series features teenage “danger magnet” Sam Fox. Fox braves the wilds, coming face to face with killer sharks and man-eating leopards as well as raging tornadoes, erupting volcanoes and more.
