Tanzania first East African country to migrate to digital

Tanzania has successfully completed digital switchover, beating the International Telecommunication Union-ITU’s 2015 deadline by more than two years, digitaltveurope.net reports.

Minister of Communication, Science and Technology Makame Mbarawa announced the completion on the occasion of a visit to Dar-es-Salaam by a delegation from Zambia headed by information and broadcasting services minister Mwansa Kapeya.

Mbarawa said Tanzania had become the first East African country to migrate to digital after completing the process at the end of last year.
