Sony SAB signs content deal with BBC Worldwide

Sony Entertainment Network-owned Hindi channel SONY SAB has announced a content deal with BBC Worldwide for the award-winning sketch show Goodness Gracious Me.

The exclusive multi-year UK rights for the show include all three seasons, as well as specials. Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) has indicated that this is the first of several potential content deals with BBC Worldwide, with details yet to be disclosed, Rapid TV News reports.

Goodness Gracious Me was labelled as traditional British comedy with an Asian twist. The show highlights the integration between traditional Asian culture and modern British life.

Tony Lit, VP head of European business, SEN said: “The BBC has always shown innovative, diverse programming and with this deal Sony Entertainment Network has enhanced its commitment to providing ground-breaking quality entertainment to viewers. Goodness Gracious Me will appeal to all viewers, whether loved in the past or watching for the first time.”
