YouTube launches A-Pop channel for Asian music

YouTube has announced the launch of A-Pop, a channel that will show live concerts and music shows from Asian artists.

A-Pop promises to be a hub for live-streaming concerts, directly hosting shows in progress and displaying upcoming events.  The channel will also broadcast latest videos from Asian pop artists and a playlist of the week’s Top 20. There are also individual tabs for K-Pop, C-Pop or J-Pop.

A-Pop Star Week kicks off on 8 March, when fans will be able to connect with A-Pop stars using Google+ Hangouts. The line-up is as follows:

  • 8 March SHINee (K-Pop)
  • 9  March Wang Leehom (C-Pop)
  • 10 March Super Junior (K-Pop)
  • 11 March Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (J-Pop)
  • 12 March flumpool (J-Pop)
  • 13 March 2PM (K-Pop)
  • 14 March Mayday (C-Pop)

Viewers can tune in to Hangouts from A-Pop and ask questions of the stars by submitting questions on Google+ via a special hashtag.
