The MoU takes the two news agencies in Southeast Asia to a partnership in the lead-up to the ASEAN Community (AC), set to be formed by 2015.

Visiting ANTARA President Director Saiful Hadi and MCOT President Anek Permvongseni signed the MOU at MCOT’s headquarter in Bangkok in a ceremony witnessed by H.E. Indonesian Ambassador to Thailand Lutfi Rauf.

Under the MoU, the two broadcasters have committed to news exchanges, capacity building activities between operational & news personnel, as well as working visits and other agreed activities ofering mutual benefit.

On the same occasion, MCOT also welcomed a group of 10 Indonesian media personnel who are on their study tour in Thailand under the media familiarization program run by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote ties and cooperation between Thai and Indonesian journalists.
