Deutche Welle Akademie targets African filmmakers

The One Fine Day Film Workshops, conducted in cooperation with DW Akademie, allow young filmmakers from Africa to tell their own story.

“Nairobi Half Life” and “Something Necessary” are among the films produced by participants in the first three workshops, which have drawn attention to many talented African filmmakers. The fourth One Fine Day Workshop is set to take place September 2-13, 2013 in Kenya.

The workshop is closely adapted to the needs of African film enthusiasts. Participants will have the opportunity to gain professional filmmaking skills and to exchange ideas and experiences with like-minded people.

The young directors, producers, scriptwriters, editors, camera operators and sound engineers taking part in the project will then go on to shoot and produce their own film.

The deadline for applications for the workshop is May 1, 2013.
