CCTV Young Singer Competition enters 15th year

China’s earliest and longest-lasting televised singing competition, CCTV Young Singer Competition (Qinggesai), returns to the screen for its 15th series this year.

Originally launched in 1984, the show is scheduled to come back with an ‘upgraded version’ in 2013, cmmintelligence.com reports.

Apart from the conventional 31 provincial representative teams, singers from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan will also be invited to join the contestant line-up.

CCTV Young Singer Competition (Qinggesai) is China’s first national television vocal authority events and has been an important platform to promote the talents and development of China’s music industry.
