Two Mandarin language networks launched in Hawaii

Oceanic Time Warner Cable, a service provider for TV and internet in Hawaii has launched Mandarin language channels to its growing line-up of international channels, rapidtvnews.com reports.

The two services are CCTV-4 and CTI-Zhong Tian. CCTV-4 is broadcast by China’s largest provider of cultural, news and entertainment programming. The overseas channel was specifically created to keep the 50 million Chinese living outside China informed of news from their homeland.

CTI-Zhong Tian is a 24-hour Mandarin-Chinese channel broadcast out of Taiwan. It provides news, dramas, variety, entertainment as well as information programming.

“Oceanic is pleased to bring these new international channels to the Mandarin speaking community here in Hawaii,” said OTWC President Bob Barlow. “We anticipate there will be great demand for these networks’ top-rated, award-winning programmes.” he added.
