India launches first matrimonial channel

India’s Vertent Media has announced that the country’s first, 24-hour matrimonial channel, Shagun TV, will be on air from this Friday.  

The channel will be available across all platforms and distributed through DTH and digital networks to northern and west India.

Shagun TV’s founder, media professional- Anuranjan Jha, said the project was eight years in the making: “I had conceived this idea eight years back and have been working on it. Now we are ready with India’s first matrimonial channel and we are going to launch it on all DTH and digital networks.

Shagun TV will have a programming-mix from across India, with shows related to wedding, astrology, relationships, honeymoon travel planning and shopping.

Vertent media has also launched a companion website to the show – www.shagunindia.com.
