‘Cover Me Canada’ to get localised in China

Another popular entertainment reality show, Cover Me Canada, is to be adopted in China for local audiences, worldscreen.com reports.

The format originated in Canada, where it was broadcast on CBC. The show watches as undiscovered bands go up against each other in a quest to find the next big musical act. They will be performing their own interpretations of local chart-topping hits.

Gary Pudney, the head of Asia Pacific at Eccho Rights, the company that will distribute the show to China, said “Cover Me Canada is a great take on the reality singing format. This kind of show is performing well in China right now and it’s great news that a first rate producer with experience of these kind of formats will be taking the show forward.”

Chloe Yang, the director of marketing at China’s Enlight Media, added, “Cover Me Canada is the perfect show for Chinese audiences and it is already generating a lot of interest with local advertisers and broadcasters. We are sure the show will be a huge success here in China.”
