HBO India appoints new Managing Director

Monica Tata has been named HBO India’s new Managing Director, effective immediately, worldscreen.com reports.

As Managing Director, Tata will work out of Mumbai and be charged with introducing and developing a variety of initiatives to improve upon the company’s offerings in India and the subcontinent.

Tata previously served as Turner International India’s general manager of entertainment networks for South Asia. In that position she managed all network initiatives throughout the company’s entertainment brand portfolio in the region. Before that she worked for Star Television, Midday Publications and the Sunday Mail.

“I am excited to join the HBO Asia family as I love the brand and this is an exciting opportunity for me,” she said.
