TV for Moscow metro

The metro system in Moscow will have its own TV channel from January 2014, broadbandtvnews.com reports.

Local reports say that the results of the competition for a licence to operate the service, valid for a minimum of five years.

The winner will be required to set up all the necessary equipment and have the right to broadcast both in trains and in stations.

The channel will be required to allocate 70 per cent of its airtime to information targeting passengers. It is likely to be funded by advertising.
