CNA unveils new Android app

Following the release of its universal iOS app and Windows 8 app last year, Channel NewsAsia has launched its new Android app that allows users to submit news leads and photos and personalise the way they want to read their news.

The app features improved intuitive navigation for content including a real-time news ticker, video clips of news reports, location-based weather forecasts and a TV guide listing where users can set reminders for shows on Channel NewsAsia.

Yeo Hock Lin, Vice President of Channel NewsAsia’s E-News, says “In this connected age, the new Android app will provide even more consumers with a powerful platform to keep on top of breaking news while they are on the go. Their experience to stay connected would be a pleasant one with features like a real-time ticker display, better customisation and interactivity.”

The native Android experience for mobile and tablet was created by software and services partner CYCLONE. Their Chief Executive, Sarah Doery, says, “With the tremendous growth of Android devices in Singapore and the wider region over the past year, a native Android experience is a must for any media owner serious about engaging their connected audience.”
